Reading Across America

Everyone is invited to celebrate literacy and reading March 7, 2026, from 10 am - 1 pm

The Idea Store will have two spaces, visit us by the store for a story and activity and also with the other Read booths.

The first 1,000 visitors will receive a bag and a book of their choice to take home, thanks to the Urbana Parks District. Everything is FREE!

Over 40 local businesses and organizations will join the park district to celebrate literacy.

Come out for hands-on literacy activities, celebrity greeters, stories read in multiple languages, costumed characters and a toddler area. There will also be a photo booth and hands-on literacy activities.

Enjoy connecting with the community through reading. Read Across America is a celebration for all!
