It's that time of the year again! Time for our biannual Jewelry Jackpot sale! We will fill our event space (across the hall from the main store) full of jewelry. Stop by and check out all our bracelets, earrings, rings, beads, and more!

Come and see the wealth of creative options available from The Idea Store! Members of The Idea Store staff and our volunteers will be providing art to be displayed in our windows - all items in the display will be made from materials sourced from The Idea Store. All of our display will be outward facing so that people walking

April 22 is Earth Day, and on Saturday the 18th we will mark the occasion by painting small pots for small plants. Just some lil guys.

On Friday, April 17th, The Idea Store is making *magical* wands at the Fairy Tale Ball at the Urbana Free Library! Come by and cast a spell.

Need a quiet place to get a head start on that project you just bought supplies for? Head over to our Event Space on Thursdays from 2:30-5pm and take advantage of a lovely third space weekly offering.

Everyone is invited to celebrate literacy and reading March 7, 2026, from 10 am - 1 pm The Idea Store will have two spaces, visit us by the store for a story and activity and also with the other Read booths. The first 1,000 visitors will receive a bag and a book of their choice to take home, thanks to the Urbana Parks District. Everything is FREE! Over 40 local businesses and organizations will join the park district to celebrate literacy. Come out for hands-on literacy activ

Attention all collectors and connoisseurs of yarn and fabric! Do you have more yarn and/or fabric than you could ever need? We sure don't! We will be holding a fabric drive from January 28th to the 31st. Come by during our regular donation hours with as much fabric or yarn as you want to part with, absolutely no limit and no appointment needed!

Due to the extreme weather forecast, our Fiber Circle event on Saturday, January 24th, has been canceled. The store however, will open at it's normal time at 9 AM. We will continue to monitor the weather throughout the day
