Dear friends and supporters,
As we reflect on this past year at The Idea Store, we are filled with gratitude for community members like you who have helped us divert over 64,000 pounds of materials from landfills and given them new life through creative reuse. Your support has enabled local artists, teachers, students, and makers to discover affordable, sustainable materials while reducing waste in our community.
In the past year we have had the support of numerous volunteers who collectively gave the store nearly 4,000 hours helping us sort and process items, prepare for special events, and join us in the community.
Our community involvements in 2024 have reached more than 600 participants, and included Read Across America, presentations about our mission and purpose to various groups, and participation in Earth Day and America Recycles events.
We have also hosted community events such as a knit-in on Knit in Public Day and a bug making craft day to celebrate the cicada Double Brood. We are going to end the year participating in the Trees and Lights Around the World event sponsored by several community organizations. None of these events would have been possible without the continual support of our volunteers; thank you.
